Owner's status, rearing pattern and description of horses in district Baramulla, Kashmir

Abstract

A field survey of 48 equine-owning households across four tehsils of district Baramulla assessed the socio-economic status of owners, shelter patterns and morphometric characteristics of horses. Owners were found to be socio-economically weak and reared non-descript horses of average body weight and condition to supplement their earnings.
